Kitengela Man's lonely Return Ends Tragically

In a disturbing incident under investigation by Kitengela police, a 48-year-old man, Vincent Opon Kisangi, allegedly met a tragic end by setting himself on fire inside his residence on Chuna Street, Kajiado County. The harrowing event unfolded after Kisangi purportedly ordered his house help to vacate the premises abruptly.

Reports suggest that prior to the fatal act, Kisangi had inflicted multiple stab wounds upon himself, resulting in profuse bleeding. His wife's whereabouts, who had accompanied him earlier in the week to an undisclosed destination, remain a mystery, intensifying the perplexity surrounding the case.

Eyewitnesses, including Kitengela resident Havira Masiko, recall witnessing flames engulfing the neighborhood, emanating from Kisangi's residence. Miraculously, the domestic worker, Ann Atieno Nyaliki, narrowly escaped unscathed, having evacuated the premises as instructed by Kisangi moments before the tragedy unfolded.

Kisangi's decision to spare his house help from harm further adds to the enigma of his actions. Subsequent investigation revealed two empty gas cylinders near the charred remains, indicating a possible method employed by Kisangi to ignite the fatal blaze. The intensity of the fire left the body unrecognizable and reduced property of unknown value to ashes.

The community remains baffled by the sequence of events, compounded by the absence of Kisangi's wife and the suddenness of his actions. As authorities continue their inquiries, the body has been transferred to Shalom Mortuary in Athi River pending a postmortem examination, seeking to shed light on the circumstances leading to this tragic demise.
